    Abstract
County Land & Water Conservation Departments work with riparian owners to address erosion issues and other threats to water quality through the DATCP Cost Share program. Typically, these projects are installed by landscaping and earth-working contractors. To build stronger relationships with these contractors, we hold workshops that address the latest County zoning and DNR water regulations, identify and communicate standards, processes, and expectations of our Cost Share programs, and share any new methods and practices to keep contractors up-to-date. As a lake property landowner or a member of a lake group, you might be wondering what some good tips are to picking a contractor, what questions you should ask them, or exactly what IS a County Cost Share program. As a conservation professional you may have considered how to bring contractors together, how best to communicate with them, or how to encourage more contractors to bid on projects. We can show you.
