    Abstract
1,2,4-Trimethylbenzene (pseudocumene) is a liquid which occurs in coal-tars and petroleum. It is used in the manufacture of dyes, perfumes, and resins, and in the sterilization of catgut. It has limited solubility in water. 1,2,4-Trimethylbenzene may enter the aquatic environment via effluents from plants where it is manufactured or used, from municipal waste treatment plant discharges, and from spills.
