This study examined the problems associated with the implementation of a weight loss program
within an existing Chiropractic clinic tight on space without disrupting patient flow. The study
aimed to address any problems associated with implementing a weight loss program, while
transforming a storage room into a weight loss consulting room. Various lean techniques were
examined and applied throughout the study, aiming to reduce wastes while operating in a more
efficient manner. Literature was reviewed to identify if the implementation of a weight loss
program within an existing clinic was feasible without the disruption of patient flow, how to
address the issue of space, and the effects of weight loss programs utilizing professional medical
consulting. The data collected in the study was collected from the clinic. The findings
determined areas of wastes, inefficiencies, and losses the company was accumulating month after
month. The results of the study indicated the clinic, in its current physical size, could implement
a weight loss program with an improved flow method, utilizing the transformed storage room,
without disrupting patient care and the flow of treatments.
