    Abstract
The animals used in the copper simulation tests were cultured at the UWS culture facilities. Fathead minnows, (Pimephales promelas) were cultured in dechlorinated water from the City of Superior municipal water supply. A cladoceran, Daphnia magna, was cultured at the University of Wisconsin Superior, Superior, WI (UWS) in moderately hard (180 mg/Las CaC0₃) reconstituted water. Fathead minnows were fed freshly hatched brine shrimp (Artemia salinus) ad libitum during culturing and the cladoceran was fed a yeast-trout chow-cereal leaf (YTC) mixture and green algae at the rate recommended by the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM).
