Supplier involvement in product development
Abstract
Supplier involvement in product development can be a beneficial strategy to an organization’s
success and innovation. In a world of instant gratification, and striving to remain relevant while
incorporating technology advancements, deficient internal capabilities at an organization can
result in a reduction of innovation, market share, and overall quality. Throughout this seminar
research paper, previous research on supplier involvement in product development will be
analyzed to determine the optimal timing to engage supplier involvement within the organization.
This includes benefits and conflicts to both the organization and the supplier. New concepts will
not be explored, rather direction is provided by connecting previous studies with an application based review assessment.
