dc.description.abstractOn June 6th, 2023, Troy Reeves interviewed Aaron Dingle, Academic Staff Award winner and co-director of the lab in the University of Wisconsin–Madison’s Department of Surgery. The interview, which touches on Dingle’s early life and science fiction inspirations, focuses on his career from around 2015 to 2023. Initially, Dingle met Sam Poore at the Bernard O'Brien Institute of Microsurgery in Melbourne Australia, and they later became lab co-directors at UW–Madison, collaborating in their work on prosthetics and other aspects of limb replacement. Dingle describes his life working for the University of Wisconsin–Madison including: grant writing, academic staff governance and groups, creating an inclusive and productive lab environment, and his time working remotely from Australia during the COVID-19 pandemic. This interview was conducted for inclusion into the UW—Madison Oral History Program.en_US
