The Effects of Feeding and Not Feeding, Aging and Not Aging Test Solutions on the Toxicity of Silver to Daphnia magna
Abstract
Simultaneous 48-h static acute toxicity tests were conducted exposing the cladoceran, Daphnia
magna, to silver solutions with four test conditions. The tests consisted of exposing test
organisms to aged test solutions with one group fed and the other not fed, and non-aged test
solutions with one group fed and the other not fed. The four acute tests generated independent EC50
values at 4, 24, and 48 h of exposure to silver.
