    Abstract
PROJECT OBJECTIVES This study will provide information for an assessment of (1) the hazard potential of selected organic compounds for freshwater organisms, and (2) the use of aquatic organisms as biological screening tools for contaminants in human drinking water supplies. Specific objectives include: Objective I: Determine LC50 concentrations of test compounds for selected fish and invertebrate species by acute toxicity tests. Objective II: Estimate "no-effect" concentrations of test compounds for selected fish and invertebrate species by embryo-larval or life-cycle toxicity tests. Objective III: Determine-rate of uptake, bioconcentration potential, and rate of elimination of selected compounds in fish tissue. Objective IV: Characterize selected test compound metabolites in fish and invertebrate species.
