Abstract
In his interview on February 24, 2023 with Elisa Miller, professor David Furumoto discussed his time as a professor and head of the Asian Theatre program at UW-Madison. Furumoto detailed how he started his career in Asian theater and what brought him to UW. He discussed his experience as a professor and the interest levels from both students and administrators. Furumoto also spoke about the various productions he put on at UW and his unique process of fusing western productions with Asian theater traditions. This interview was conducted by Elisa Miller who studied the history of the Asian Theatre program for her Student Historian position with the UW Archives, as well as for inclusion into the UW-Madison Oral History Program.
