    Abstract
This study represents the City of Superior's vision in planning for a better future and the University of Wisconsin-Superior's ability to provide positive solutions to specific problems. The recent loss of large numbers of trees in the City of Superior, particularly from Dutch Elm disease, has emphasized the need for carefully planning the distribution of species to be planted.
