Cairns Collection of American Women Writers to 1930: Author List

Abstract

The list of authors in the William B. Cairns Collection of American Women Writers to 1930 at present includes over 3,000 names. The non-circulating collection is housed in the Department of Special Collections, 990 Memorial Library, but other copies and editions of many of the titles included can be found in the regular stacks. The collection is entirely accessible via the UW–Madison Libraries Catalog. This data set is a record of the Names and Pseudonyms used by American women writers whose works are held in the William B. Cairns Collection of American Women Writers to 1930, and a finding aid to variant forms of their names. It was available as an online database until June 2021, when it was decommissioned, and the data archived here.
