This concept poster depicts my 1st year Transformative learning experience as a Ed.D Educational Sustainability student. This poster documents the pivotal theories in sustainability and the urgency of agents of change in developing a sustainable society. The courses enhanced my foundations of ecological literacy, shifted my role in education in a sustainable society, and changed citizen goals for a regenerative economy. Diving into the Systems View of Life, ecological learning journals, and unfolding deeper into complex system has allowed me to reexamine my role as a secondary educator. Reflecting on my positionality and the lenses I wear, setting up communities of learning and practice, and repositioning my sense of place in our global environment, I've decided my research will focus on developing transformative learning experiences using virtual tools. Amid the current COVID-19 Pandemic and movements calling for change, prioritizing essentials has been a critical transformative learning experience. My research interests are: How can Virtual experiences and spaces enhance sustainability science education? How can virtual experience provide equitable learning opportunities? How can virtual learning environments be used as a tool for sustainability education?
