    Abstract
This year has been about growing and branching out my learning and understanding of the world of sustainability education, while also pulling from and deepening my roots of experience. The base of my learning is supported by the learning theories that I have read and learned about from my work as an educator, my studies in philosophy and creative writing, and this program. They have grown into my own theories of how we can create systemic change through education for a more sustainable future. The tree itself is a system, each part connected to the next-my past and what I was searching for in a program connects to my professional present and the research I conducted in the Netherlands which has led me to my research interests and intent for my dissertation.
