    Abstract
Formal and informal educational contexts have the unique position of either perpetuating the status quo or pushing through boundaries that address the complexities of today in order to sustain tomorrow. In order to reimagine these educational spaces, I have outlined four overarching elements that will be critical in supporting learning environments and a humanitarian disposition that fosters empathy, along with mutual respect and responsibility amidst difference. My research will focus on the intersection of the following: reframing and restructuring of curriculum curriculum design components, global citizenship methodologies, permeable educational spaces that broaden one’s sense of place and worldview, and the inclusion and restoration of cultural/linguistic heritage and knowledge. As evident of my personal program journey, my work will account for the synthesis of past learning and present perspectives to guide my future goals and orientation.
