This paper discusses the US refugee policies that played a key role in refugee and immigration policy in the United States, especially on the Hmong who were resettled here after the Vietnam War. Additionally, this paper will briefly cover the complicated history of the Hmong, how they got to Southeast Asia, their involvement in the Vietnam (particularly the Secret War in Laos) and their eventual resettlement in the United States. Through their history and through these refugee and immigration policies we see how it has shaped the lives of immigrants and refugees who have come to the United States, especially on Hmong refugees.en_US
