In 2011 the University of Wisconsin--Eau Claire Foundation purchased the 112 acre St. Bede's Priory property south of the city of Eau Claire, Wisconsin, that currently houses the Children's Nature Academy. The study area is located on a sandstone bedrock controlled ridge top that is
bounded by steep, wooded, convex slopes grading to gently sloping valleys. The purpose of this study was to use soil-based evidence to inform best land use practices for the property.
