dc.description.abstract | This paper examines the history of multicultural programming at the University of Wisconsin--Eau Claire specifically, and the University of Wisconsin System generally. Its' purpose is to analyze the university's effectiveness at reaching and retaining multicultural students over the past 60 years. It includes a brief introduction of secondary source material, a discussion of the 1965 Higher Education Act, and the implementation of mandated UW-system initiatives versus UW-Eau Claire's. It will be determined that UW-Eau Claire, compared to other system schools, has continually been a back runner in the movement to reach equity and which has had lasting effect into today. | en |
