Rural Chinese Elderly : Demographic Characteristics and Activities of Daily Living

Abstract

Based on national elderly survey data of 1992, this paper presents the demographic characteristics of the Chinese rural elderly in terms of age, gender, and marital status and examines restrictions on activities of daily living in terms of eating, sleeping, dressing, toileting, and bathing.
