Never Too Young: Science at Madison Children's Museum
Abstract
Madison Children's Museum has a long history of collaboration with UW-Madison researchers in delivering age-appropriate science outreach for young children. Ruth Shelly will direct a virtual tour of the new expanded museum, an entire building that serves as a teaching tool from the top to the toilets.
The new museum is scheduled to open in 2010, so the proposed science experiences are still under development. Participants in this session will have the opportunity to contribute ideas for the proposed interactive science lab, green roof, alternative energy demonstration site, and interdisciplinary displays designed to promote creativity and critical thinking.
