    Abstract
Christine Maidl Pribbenow will highlight the findings and implications of two studies on faculty who have left UW-Madison in recent years. One study looked at female faculty in the sciences and engineering who left UW-Madison between 2000 and 2003, and the other examined men and women from across campus who left their faculty positions in 2006 and 2007. The themes that have emerged from interviews with 25 participants may indicate why faculty leave campus and provide insight into how recruitment and retention practices might be improved to preserve one of the university's most valuable resources.
