The collection contains oral history interviews with former members of the Milwaukee Chicks, a professional baseball team which played in the All-American Girls Professional Baseball League (AAGPBL) in 1944. The interviews were conducted as part of a 1995 oral history course at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. Interview materials include abstracts, verbatim transcripts, and audio recordings. The interviews include information on the players' personal histories and backgrounds, the AAGPBL, their impressions of playing, contracts, uniforms, life on the road, social engagements, the role of women in World War II, and other members of the Chicks. The Milwaukee Chicks played only one season in the League (1944), won the championship, and then moved to Grand Rapids, Michigan.
